Volunteer Day at the Morgan Sandhills PreserveIn sixth grade, the class went to the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County's Morgan Preserve, which is located between Felton and Scotts Valley. The field trip with the Santa Cruz Natural History Museum taught about ancient oceans, fossils, and the rare plant and animals. As part of the field trip the class pulled weeds to protect endangered species. The Land Trust is hosting community volunteers to help out by pulling some more weeds and protecting some more habitat. It should be a fun morning with some potential to see interesting wildlife. Newts, badgers, hawks and bobcats have all been seen there.
